054 – Love of Covenants/Vows Keeping:

Brings Us Power and Joy: preach:

Daniel 9:4 And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

Ezekiel 17:14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.

Numbers 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

To make Vows, Covenants, Oaths, or Solemn Promises, is Binding and the Lord does not take lightly.

Definition:

Covenant; is a binding spiritual contract, a solemn promise to God our Heavenly Father; that we will live our lives and think correct thoughts and act in the way the scriptures tells us to act. This is the way of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In doing so, our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Ghost; promise’s us the full greatness of eternal life. A Covenant is that binding contract, the Lord sets the terms and we agree to keep them. Making and keeping our covenants is a spiritual promise to become like the Savior.

Definition:

Vows; voluntary promises which, when once made, were to be kept if the thing vowed was right. They were made under a great variety of circumstances. To give, consecrate, or dedicate to God by a solemn promise. He that vow, must be careful to perform. A vow is a promise of something to be given or done hereafter.

I would like to ask everyone to consider how much do we love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and determine how gladly we keep our covenants and vows.

We pray that the Holy Ghost will be here with us and to help us to learn more about covenant keeping and vow keeping.

We all have free agency; when it comes to making and keeping our covenants/vows; is to bind, attach, connect, join, and combine; ourselves to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

We are committing ourselves to follow our Savior forever.

When we commit ourselves; it is trusting in our Lord, and it is wanting to show our gratitude; for Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins; which He did, which set us free through the gift of the atonement.

Why Do We Make Covenants?

When we make covenants with the Lord, and keep them, it strengthens us, it gives us the permission to do the right things, and it protects us when we are worthy.

Greater blessings the Lord will give us when we are covenant keepers.

With the power from Jesus Christ, which come upon the covenant people of the Lord, for they will be armed with righteousness and with the great power of Heavenly Father in great joy and happiness.

As we do our best and our part in keeping all of our covenants or vows; we will receive greater courage and greater strength to help each of us to bear one another’s burdens.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

In this world, we all have many burdens to bear, and we have burdens to share with others.

In keeping our covenants/vows; we get to help others with their burdens.

We must care for one another, we need to watch over one another, we need to comfort one another, teach one another, so that we can all meet together in heaven.

This is what the Lord intended for us to do, which is covenant/vow keeping at its most excellent.

For the Lord will hear our prayers of His covenant/vow keeping people and bless them more the others for their worthiness.

For the Lord rejoices in the person who repenteth of his sins and forsakes them.

We all want our children to grow up in the Lord and follow His ways.

To do this, we must keep all of our covenants and or vows, for our children will have a greater chance of following Jesus Christ, too.

We need to help our children to make and keep sacred baptismal covenants at the age of accountability and up, will be to help them to learn to make and keep very simple promises they make.

We need to prepare little children under the age of accountability for baptism.

By the power of the Holy Ghost; worthy parents are entitled to know the best methods to teach the children.

We as parents, willing to seek the Lord for our personal revelations and act worthily by counseling together, and teaching the basic principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, then the parents will have power to strengthen and protect their families from the adversaries.

All families need help from other family members to help.

Many songs teach us how to keep our promises.

As parents and families; we need to bear the burdens of neighbors, friends, and other church members, and comforts those who stand in need of comfort.

What the world needs, is families that are centered around Jesus Christ, where the scriptures are taught, covenants and vows are kept, and love abounds.

We need to discover as a family and friends, what it means to be worthy.

We need to listen to the Holy Ghost and follow His instructions.

Teaching our families the use of symbols, like the sacred symbols of baptism and the holy sacrament.

We need to understand that our body is sacred, which the Lord refers to the body as a temple, and we need to dress and groom modestly.

By studying the scriptures, we can learn of the plan of happiness from the Lord.

The more we learn the scriptures, the more we understand our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness and the Atonement, and it will bring us more meaning into our lives and our families.

Families are forever, so as we learn about our ancestors together and search out our family histories and record them, we are fulfilling the covenants and vows we make.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

The Lord said, if ye love me, keep my commandments.

We can teach our children the concept of Good, Better, and Best in the scriptures.

We need to prepare our children and expect them to make and keep covenants and vows to the Lord.

The best way to do that is by examples; do them cheerfully, and not grudgingly, not differently, not bitterly, not stingily, and etc.

Some of the basic covenants and vows are keeping the 10 commandments.

We need to realize our major role in the work of salvation as we care for, teach, and prepare all of our children in the covenant or vow path.

The power we and our children will gain will come through honoring and keeping our covenants and vows.

We need to be faithful to our covenants and vows, which is a requirement for our happiness; this will bring us true happiness.

Our sacred covenants and vows must be respected and valued by us in all that we do.

We need to keep all of the commandments of the Lord, even the least, for there are many more then, just the 10 commandments.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

How do we rejoice and demonstrate our keeping our covenants and vows.

We can do this by remembering the Lord, always and keeping all of His commandments, which include keeping His Sabbath day holy.

Does that mean a lot of different things we should not do on the Sabbath day, we need to set our priorities straight before the Lord.

Does that mean we go to church and that is all we do in keeping the Sabbath day holy and come home and do the things of the world on the Sabbath day?

The Lord knows our heart and what are we teaching our children?

Do we have our personal and family prayers, scriptures study, caring for others, and etc?

We need to work harder and repent of our sins, and begin again.

For us to obtain all that our Heavenly Father has, we need to gladly keep our covenants and vows, which is the saving ordinances and obtain the highest kingdom with our Heavenly Father.

For there are lesser kingdoms, like one star differ from glory than another star.

We need to make covenants and vows with our Heavenly Father and keep them.

When we keep them, we can obtain the highest kingdom.

Ordinances, covenants, and vows, are the spiritual paths to heaven.

We need to be a covenant people.

As we make promises with Heavenly Father, then He will make promises with us.

This is a test to see if we truly will keep our covenants and vows with Him.

By keeping our covenants and vows, we demonstrate our love for our Savior and our Heavenly Father in Heaven.

Our time here on earth is but a short time, when we have deep love for the Lord and keep our covenants and vows, time fly by.

Jesus Christ kept His covenant with Heavenly Father and fulfilled His mission to atone for our sins.

Jesus suffered for our sins because He loved Heavenly Father and us.

Our Heavenly Father allowed Jesus Christ, which was His only Begotten, to suffer pain beyond description.

He suffered sins, heartaches, sicknesses, and infirmities of the world.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Can we fully appreciate our many blessings which are ours through the redemption He made for us?

Being a covenant or vow making and keeping, is a way to express our love for Heavenly Father, the Atonement of our Lord and Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

We have not knowledge and we are not certain of what will happen on Judgment Day.

We will be asked on that day, do you love me.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

John 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

We need to stop and evaluate ourselves on how much do we love the Savior.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

By the power of being worthy, the Holy Ghost can help us to keep our covenants and vows, and helps us to have spiritual experiences in our daily lives.

The Lord loves us all, even those who have been wayward in the past or who are currently struggling can feel the touch of the Savior’s hand upon their heads and hear His voice saying, come unto me.

I will forgive you of your sins, repent and forsake them, and you will find joy.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Jesus Christ kept His covenants and vows with love for us.

Then the questing is, will we keep ours?

We must strive in faith, with cheerful hearts, and with a great desire to be covenant and vow keepers.

This is how we show our love for our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for they want the best for us and to return home worthily.

Many of us may not understand our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness or plan of salvation, well enough to realize or comprehend how important living a morally clean life is.

Keeping the commandments in the scriptures will bring us peace, happiness, and self-esteem.

When you accept the basic principles of the scriptures and commit to live them, you will gain the spiritual insight that will help you, to desire purity, integrity, and increase your faith.

Regrettably, you and I live in a world that is flooded in all kinds of moral pollution, drugs, violence, filthy language, pornography in all types of media, like literature, videotapes, films, movies, internet, iphones, and television shows that promote illicit sex and promiscuity as being normal.

The world is raging that abortion acceptable.

We have many challenges, but you need to remember that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, will not let you face them alone, when you are striving to do good.

There are many people who want you to succeed in this life, but you may not know it and they want the best for you.

Heavenly Father has made promises to the faithful people who love Him, who are baptized, and who keep His covenants and vows and commandments.

When you were baptized, you made a covenant, vow, or promise to the Lord that you would strive to keep all of the commandments before the Lord.

You would witness to your family, friends, church, and the world, you have truly repented of all of your sins.

You are willing to take upon you the name of Jesus Christ.

You are willing to serve Him to the end.

You are willing to serve others.

You are willing to receive His spirit unto the remission of your sins.

Keeping your covenants and vows, you are willing to walk in holiness before the Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Those that live up to their covenants and vows shall dwell in the presence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, forever and ever.

They will have eternal life, which is the greatest gift of all.

If you are not keeping your covenants and vows, start today, repent and work hard at it.

I know and you know that Satan will seek to tempt you at times and in many different ways that use our greatest weaknesses and destroy our strengths.

Satan wants us to sins, for that is his pleasure.

Satan knows that when we sin, it separates us from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

We begin to move away from God and all His promised blessings and we move towards misery and anguish.

When we sin, Satan has power over us.

This is a battle for your soul.

You have a powerful spirit within you, which is the sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father and His love for you.

Heavenly Father has given you a conscience that tells you right from wrong.

You need to pay more attention to your spiritual self, which is eternal, than your physical self, which is temporary, you will have the power to resist the temptations of Satan.

You need to be true to your covenants and vows you have made with God.

There is no such thing as a little sin.

Repentance is the key to happiness.

If you have a problem with sin, talk it over with the Lord in earnest and humble prayer.

I know Jesus lives and He is the Christ.

How long is Eternity?

This life is very short compared to Eternity, this is a test for us here.

Whether we live a few moments in the mother’s womb or 150 years old, compared to the Eternities, this life is nothing, we are here to choose the right and marry and raise a family of children unto God.

Families are forever with God.

The Apostle Paul talks about the 3 Kingdoms or Glories.

1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial : but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun , and another glory of the moon , and another glory of the stars : for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Three Kingdoms of Glory:

There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord's commandments. It will depend on the manner in which we have "received the testimony of Jesus".

Celestial Kingdom – Like the - Sun :

The celestial kingdom is the highest of the three kingdoms of glory.

Those in this kingdom will dwell forever in the presence of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

This should be our goal: to inherit celestial glory and to help others receive that great blessing as well.

Such a goal is not achieved in one attempt; it is the result of a lifetime of righteousness and constancy of purpose.

The celestial kingdom is the place prepared for those who have "received the testimony of Jesus" and been "made perfect through Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, who wrought out this perfect atonement through the shedding of his own blood".

To inherit this gift, we must receive the ordinances of salvation, keep the commandments, and repent of our sins.

"All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God; "Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom;

"For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts".

"I also beheld that all children who die before they arrive at the years of accountability are saved in the celestial kingdom of heaven".

There are three degrees within the celestial kingdom.

To be exalted in the highest degree and continue eternally in family relationships, we must enter into "the new and everlasting covenant of marriage" and be true to that covenant.

In other words, temple marriage is a requirement for obtaining the highest degree of celestial glory.

All who are worthy to enter into the new and everlasting covenant of marriage will have that opportunity, whether in this life or the next.

Terrestrial Kingdom – Like the - Moon :

Those who inherit terrestrial glory will "receive of the presence of the Son, but not of the fulness of the Father.

Wherefore, they are bodies terrestrial, and not bodies celestial, and differ in glory as the moon differs from the sun".

Generally speaking, individuals in the terrestrial kingdom will be honorable people "who were blinded by the craftiness of men".

This group will include members of the Church who were "not valiant in the testimony of Jesus".

It will also include those who rejected the opportunity to receive the gospel in mortality but who later received it in the postmortal spirit world.

Telestial Kingdom – Like the - Stars :

As one star differ from another star in glory.

Telestial glory will be reserved for individuals who "received not the gospel of Christ, neither the testimony of Jesus".

These individuals will receive their glory after being redeemed from spirit prison, which is sometimes called hell.

Perdition :

Some people will not be worthy to dwell in any kingdom of glory.

A place of outer darkness.

They will be called "the sons of perdition" and will have to "abide a kingdom which is not a kingdom of glory".

This will be the state of "those who know [God's] power, and have been made partakers thereof, and suffered themselves through the power of the devil to be overcome, and to deny the truth and defy [God's] power".

Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
(Why would the Lord tells us about another book will come forth in the Latter Days?)
(What are the words and the book the Lord is telling Daniel about, which will come in the last days? The Holy Bible is already here? So what is the other book, Daniel is talking about in the last days. It cannot be the Holy Bible; it must be some other book?)
(We have had horse and buggy to thousands of year, and since early 1800’s, man has been inventing things and now we are into space, so where is that other book other than the bible?)

Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
(Again, the Lord is telling us about a sealed book. Is there a book other than the Bible,.)
(God said it twice, another book to be reviled in last days. What is that other book? I am sure it would be like unto the Bible, having similar teaching, but a different book? Or did God forget about another book for us in the last days. And why until the last days, unless it has more meat to the text and the people were not ready for such meat then.)

Ezekiel 37:16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions:
(Stick = Book or a Bible, Judah = Old and New Testament, David = Linage same as Jesus Christ)
(Joseph, the stick of Ephraim = Another Book or Bible, different from the Holy Bible.)
(Ephraim was the son of Joseph that was sold into Egypt, by his brothers. Another stick or Bible type Book will have to come forth like unto the Bible. It will be another witness of Jesus Christ. Which is, like onto the Holy Bible. Line up line, here a little, there a little, or give baby milk before meat. The Lord gave the Holy Bible like milk before another Book or another Bible type was like meat.)
(Where is it?)

Ezekiel 37:17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
(The Holy Bible and the other Book or other Bible, tells about Jehovah and Jesus Christ and His teachings in both parts of the world.)
(When we join them together, which means for us to believe that they are both just as important as the other, and that they are both from Him.)
(The Bible and this other Book will tell about Jehovah or Jesus and His teachings in both parts of the world.)
(When we join them together, which means for us to believe that they are both just as important as the other, and that they are both from Jehovah or Jesus?)

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
(Revelations is for us in the Last Days...)
(A gospel for the Last Days called the Everlasting Gospel or another Book or another Bible that has to be brought to all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.)
(The Holy Bible and the other Book or another Bible is His teachings for us in the Last Days.)
(The Holy Bible is already here for thousands of years, but in the Last Days, is another Book or another Bible, which has never been seen before by man, until the Last Days. Many will reject it, for they will say, a bible, a bible, who needs another bible, we have a bible, and that is all we need. Not what God’s wants them to have.)

The Lord Jesus Christ, wants the best for you in these Latter-days and it is this sealed book just for you which is not the Bible. The Bible and this other Book will be one in His hand in the Last Days before Armageddon and go to all nations round the world.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

In the Sacred and Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen
