026 – How Do We Sacrifice:

What is Heavenly Father’s work:

In the terms of the Lord, we are to sacrifice our time, our talents, our possessions, our energy, our money, and our efforts to further our Heavenly Father’s work.

What is Heavenly Father’s work; it is three (3) fold?

1. We are to proclaim the gospel of the Jesus Christ concerning man’s salvation to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people of the world.

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

2. We are to help perfect and teach the Saints or members of His Church by preparing them to receive the ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ, like baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, Priesthood, Temple marriage, the law of tithing, the law of fast offerings, and much more, and by instruction and discipline to gain exaltation in the next life. Help provides opportunities for all members to become involved in many different kinds of activities that develop them mentally, morally, physically, and spiritually in the perfection process.

Isaiah 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD;

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go:

Deuteronomy 4:9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

3. We are to redeem the dead by performing vicarious ordinances of the gospel for those who have lived on the earth, which is called genealogy work and research and temple work.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

1 Peter 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

The Lord’s revelation that through proper priesthood authority, baptism could be performed vicariously for the dead preserved the justice of His statement: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

Hebrews 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Vicarious baptism can mercifully provide this essential ordinance for all worthy deceased who did not receive it in mortality.

This glorious doctrine is another witness of the all-encompassing nature of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

He made salvation available to every repentant soul.

His Atonement conquered death, and He permits the worthy deceased to receive all ordinances of salvation vicariously.

All three (3) are parts of one work or the mission of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

We are to assist our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, in their grand and glorious mission; with our time, talents, possessions, and efforts.

Their mission or work is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

We need to keep these sacred principles of the gospel of God in mind and make them an integral part of our lives every day.

That is to say; we are to proclaim the gospel, to perfect the members or Saints, and to redeem the dead by proxy.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When you are willing to sacrifice your time, talents, possessions, and efforts shows the Lord your devotion to Him.

Many do little sacrifice and call it good, but is the Lord happy with it, when He know you can do much, very much more.

Many of your trials are to test us to see if you are willing to put Heavenly Father first or put Him last.

With your sacrifices, do you want the highest kingdom or the lowest kingdom; it is your choice that places you.

Heavenly Father does not force you to go to a higher or lower kingdom.

We have free agency to choose how important to sacrifice for the Lord without expecting anything from Him in return for our efforts.

Mark 9:49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Mark 9:50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

The Lord required the law of sacrifice in ancient times of animals which were the firstlings of their flocks, which Jesus Christ was the first born of Heavenly Father.

This sacrifice ordinance was to remember the Lord.

Jesus Christ would offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.

Jesus Christ sacrifice that everyone will be saved from a physical death by His resurrection and we all can be saved from our sins through having faith in Him, by repenting and forsaking our sins and keeping all of the commandments of the scriptures.

With Jesus Christ’s atonement and sacrifice brought an end to sacrifices by the shedding the blood of animals.

This outward sacrifice was replaced by the ordinance of the bread and wine (water) sacrament and to remember Him and to do it often.

The emblem of the bread is for His body and wine (water) is for His blood.

Jesus Christ was the last sacrifice and it was His atonement for us.

We must sacrifice our time, talents, possessions, and efforts for Him.

This is how we observe the law of sacrifice today and it is a commandment.

Your offer for a sacrifice would be a broken heart and a contrite spirit for the Lord.

Psalm 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

Psalm 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

With a broken heart and a contrite spirit, we go before the Lord and offer our sorrows for our sins.

We need to truly repent of our sins before we could begin to have a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

You need to be very willing to sacrifice all that you have to the Lord and not have a desire to hold back.

Are you willing to make sacrifices for the Lord?

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

You are to be a living sacrifice, you must be willing to give everything you have for His Church and to build up the kingdom of God on the earth and you must labor to bring forth His righteousness.

You need to keep the commandment of the Lord.

Luke 18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Luke 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

Luke 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Luke 18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Luke 18:23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

This man could not truly follow Jesus Christ, for his heart was set on things of the world.

Can You?

So, when you are put to the test, are you willing to sacrifice your worldly possessions?

Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Matthew 4:20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

He called 12 apostles and they drop all they had and followed Him.

Like His disciples, can you offer your daily activities as a sacrifice to the Lord.

Are you willing to say, thy will be done?

Abraham was willing to sacrifice his most precious possession, when sacrifices and burnt offerings were required.

The Lord tested Abraham’s faith, for He commanded him to offer up his only son Isaac as a sacrifice.

Abraham was commanded by to Lord to offer his son as a sacrifice was extremely painful for him.

However, Abraham and his son made the long journey, for 3 days to Mount Moriah, where the sacrifice was to be made to the Lord.

The Lord was testing Abraham’s faith, can you imagine what thoughts he was thinking and how it affected him with much sorrow, sadness, and anguish.

Isaac was to be sacrificed to the Lord, like an animal.

Genesis 22:7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Genesis 22:9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Genesis 22:10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

Genesis 22:11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

Genesis 22:12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

Genesis 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Abraham must have felt great joy and happiness that he no longer was required to sacrifice his son, Isaac.

Abraham past the test of the Lord, for he was willing to do anything asked.

We need sacrifices in our lives so we can live with Heavenly Father.

Our sacrifices may not be as great as Abraham.

Part of eternal life, we all will go through trials and what sacrifices we will perform for the Lord.

You must be willing to sacrifice all you have; our time, our talents, our possessions, and our efforts to further our Heavenly Father’s work.

Again, you may not be asked of the Lord to sacrifice all things.

You need to be willing to sacrifice everything to become worthy to live in the presence of Heavenly Father.

You do not want to hold back on your sacrifices and be rejected of the Lord.

There will be hard times coming soon, and you will be suffering many hardships and even be ridiculed for the gospel sake.

Trials will come in many forms and require great sacrifices, even maybe our lives.

Matthew 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

The more you seek the Lord, your testimonies of Him will grow.

Then you will be capable of making greater sacrifices to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many good and faithful saints or members have very little money to live on, but they choose to pay their tithes and offerings to the Lord.

Throughout the world are many good people who sacrifice for the Lord.

Would you sacrifice all that you have (time, talents, energy, money, your life and etc.) for a place to live with Heavenly Father and be in His kingdom of the highest?

When you truly sacrifice for the right purpose, you can obtain knowledge, from our Heavenly Father that you are acceptable.

You need to give to the Lord your willingness to sacrifice for Him.

Jesus Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice to show you He loves you.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Where your treasure is, there is your heart.

Sacrifice to be fit for the kingdom.

How long is Eternity?

This life is very short compared to Eternity, this is a test for us here.

Whether we live a few moments in the mother’s womb or 150 years old, compared to the Eternities, this life is nothing, we are here to choose the right and marry and raise a family of children unto God.

Families are forever with God.

The Apostle Paul talks about the 3 Kingdoms or Glories.

1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial : but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun , and another glory of the moon , and another glory of the stars : for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Three Kingdoms of Glory:

There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord's commandments. It will depend on the manner in which we have "received the testimony of Jesus".

Celestial Kingdom – Like the - Sun :

The celestial kingdom is the highest of the three kingdoms of glory.

Those in this kingdom will dwell forever in the presence of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

This should be our goal: to inherit celestial glory and to help others receive that great blessing as well.

Such a goal is not achieved in one attempt; it is the result of a lifetime of righteousness and constancy of purpose.

The celestial kingdom is the place prepared for those who have "received the testimony of Jesus" and been "made perfect through Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, who wrought out this perfect atonement through the shedding of his own blood".

To inherit this gift, we must receive the ordinances of salvation, keep the commandments, and repent of our sins.

"All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God; "Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom;

"For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts".

"I also beheld that all children who die before they arrive at the years of accountability are saved in the celestial kingdom of heaven".

There are three degrees within the celestial kingdom.

To be exalted in the highest degree and continue eternally in family relationships, we must enter into "the new and everlasting covenant of marriage" and be true to that covenant.

In other words, temple marriage is a requirement for obtaining the highest degree of celestial glory.

All who are worthy to enter into the new and everlasting covenant of marriage will have that opportunity, whether in this life or the next.

Terrestrial Kingdom – Like the - Moon :

Those who inherit terrestrial glory will "receive of the presence of the Son, but not of the fulness of the Father.

Wherefore, they are bodies terrestrial, and not bodies celestial, and differ in glory as the moon differs from the sun".

Generally speaking, individuals in the terrestrial kingdom will be honorable people "who were blinded by the craftiness of men".

This group will include members of the Church who were "not valiant in the testimony of Jesus".

It will also include those who rejected the opportunity to receive the gospel in mortality but who later received it in the postmortal spirit world.

Love Heavenly Father, Love the Lord Jesus Christ, and Love the Holy Ghost, Be Beloved, Be Holy, Bowels of Mercies, Do All Your Duties, Forbearing One Another, Forgiving, Helping the Poor, Humbleness of Mind, Keep The Commandments, Kindness, Longsuffering, Meekness, Repent and Forsake

Telestial Kingdom – Like the - Stars :

As one star differ from another star in glory.

Telestial glory will be reserved for individuals who "received not the gospel of Christ, neither the testimony of Jesus".

These individuals will receive their glory after being redeemed from spirit prison, which is sometimes called hell.

Anger, Blasphemy, Concupiscence, Covetousness, Discord, Disobedience, Doing Contrary to the Laws of God, Envy, Evil, False Witness, Filthy Communication, Fornication, Gluttony, Graven Image, Greed, Hath, Did Not Honour Thy Father and Mother, Idolatry, Inordinate Affection, Keep the Sabbath Day, Laziness, Lust, Lying, Malice, Mischief, Neglecting, No Other Gods, Piety, Pride, Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbour, Shalt Not Commit Adultery, Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighour's Property, Shalt Not Kill, Shalt Not Steal, Sloth, Take Lords Name In Vain, Triumphing over Others, Uncleanness, Wicked Imaginations, Wrath, and Etc.

Perdition :

Some people will not be worthy to dwell in any kingdom of glory.

A place of outer darkness.

They will be called "the sons of perdition" and will have to "abide a kingdom which is not a kingdom of glory".

This will be the state of "those who know [God's] power, and have been made partakers thereof, and suffered themselves through the power of the devil to be overcome, and to deny the truth and defy [God's] power".

Hands that Shed Innocent Blood

Denied the Holy Ghost

The Lord Jesus Christ, wants the best for you in these Latter-days and it is this sealed book just for you which is not the Bible. The Bible and this other Book will be one in His hand in the Last Days before Armageddon and go to all nations round the world.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

In the Sacred and Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen
